This was a truly inspiring event. Four thousand people gathered in the magnificent Basilica in Washington DC. Many peoples from many spiritual traditions coming together to celebrate the Ones of all life. Toward the end of the concert the entire audience took a moment of silence and focused along with our WorldPuja audience. This moment of silence was followed by a choir singing a special rendition of the song "We Shall Overcome" as follows:
We shall overcome, we shall overcome,
We shall overcome someday;
Oh, deep in my heart, I do believe,
We shall overcome someday;
We'll walk hand in hand . . . .
God is on our side . . .
*All our faiths at peace/. . .
Oh, deep in my heart, I do believe,
There is love for all today.
*Contributed for the occasion by Dr. Diane Sherwood
This concert demonstrates through the language of song, dance and chant, the diversity and unity of people of many different faiths, races, cultures and religions. Please join us for this very special concert.
