Children and Self-Esteem
Nicole Clark is a former Elite International Model, author and film maker who has been writing and creating material to empower children and teens for several years. She is the director of Cover Girl Culture: Awakening the Media Generation, a feature length documentary film that explores how the worlds of fashion, modeling, advertising and celebrity are impacting the lives and damaging the self-esteem of teens and young women.
Nicole also is the author of two acclaimed children's books that teach emotional intelligence "The Oceans of Emotions" and "Adventures in Dreamtime". (Chosen by Mental Health Resources). She is currently in production on her second documentary, "Taking ME out of Media", which follows three average American teenage girls through self-esteem workshops and body image classes to see what it takes to help them unplug from the media bombardment (the pressure to be skinny and sexy at 12) and plug into something greater -- themselves.
